Theoretical Framework
The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by Icek Ajzen

The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) by Icek Ajzen is a psychological theory that seeks to explain and predict
human behavior. It posits that individual behavior is determined by three key factors: attitudes toward the behavior,
subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. Attitudes refer to the individual's positive or negative evaluation of
the behavior; subjective norms involve the perceived social pressure to perform or not perform the behavior; and
perceived behavioral control relates to the individual's belief in their ability to carry out the behavior. According to TPB,
these factors collectively influence a person's intention to engage in a specific behavior, and intentions, in turn, are strong
predictors of actual behavior. The theory has been widely applied in various fields, including health psychology,
environmental psychology, and consumer behavior, to understand and modify human behavior through targeted
interventions.
