What is an application letter and why it is
important?

 A formal document submitted alongside a resume or


curriculum vitae (CV) when applying for a job or
other opportunities such as internships, scholarships,
or admission to educational programs.

 It helps to:
1. Introduce you to the employer.
2. Showcase Your Skills.
3. Explain why you want to work for that
company.
4. Explain why you're excited about the position.
5. Create a first impression.
Structures of an Application
Letter

1. Heading (Your contact information)


2. Date
3. Employer's contact information
4. Salutation
5. Introduction
6. Body paragraphs (Skills and qualifications)
7. Conclusion
8. Closing (Sincerely, Regards, etc.)
9. Signature
Heading & Date

 Include your name, address, phone


number, and email address and a date
at the top of the letter.

o Example:
John Smith

Information

 Include the employer's contact information


o Example:
Ms. Emily Johnson

 Address the letter to the specific person if possible

o Example:

Introduction

 Greet the employer and mention the specific


job position you are applying for.
o Example:
I am writing to express my interest in the
Senior Marketing Associate position advertised on
the company's website. With five years of
experience in digital marketing, I am excited about
the opportunity to contribute to XYZ Corporation
and its innovative marketing strategies.
Body Paragraph

 Highlight your relevant skills and


qualifications.
 Provide examples or experiences that
demonstrate your suitability for the job.

ABC Company, I successfully managed multiple
marketing campaigns from conception to execution,
resulting in a 20% increase in website traffic and a 15%

Conclusion
 Summarize why you are a strong candidate for the
position.
 Express enthusiasm for the opportunity to interview.

contribute to the continued success of your marketing
initiatives. I am available at your earliest convenience for an

Closing

 Choose a closing phrase (e.g., Sincerely, Regards) and


sign your name.
Example:
 Sincerely,
John Doe

 Regards,
Emily Dickson
Do’s And Don’ts!

Dos:
 Be short
 Change the letter to fit the job
 Check for mistakes.

Don'ts:
 Don't use the same letter for every job
 Don't include things that don't matter
 Don't forget to check for mistakes.
