This is an online advertising term
for an ad that uses advanced
technology like video, audio, or
other elements that involve viewers
to interact and engage with the
content.
Characteristics of Rich Media:

• Advanced animations
• Highly interactive and engaging
• Dynamic movement
• Has greater file size

• Banners and Badges – It provides
web owners with a way to present
additional content with audio or
video.

• Interstitial – It is playing between


pages on a website either in the main
browser window or in a smaller new
window.
• In stream media – It refers to a
video that is downloaded to the
user’s computer while they are
viewing it.

• Floating media – It is an ad floating


above a webpage and it is moving
across the page that hosts it.
• Expandable – These are ads
that expands when clicked by
the user or when the user moves
his mouse over it.

It is a form of communication
that uses a combination of
different content forms such as
writing, audio, images,
animations, or video.

• Videos – Through video hosting sites,
you can take a video and show it to
the entire world. (YouTube)
• Sound, Music, or Audio – If videos
are too much for you, you can always
record sounds. (Soundcloud)

• Online games – Game developers now
create what is called “browser-based
games”. (Farmville, Candy Crush)
• Online tests – Online survey forms and
tests that automatically display the
results when finished. (Online IQ and
Personality Tests)

stimulate the classroom online. (E-
learning Courses using a Learning
Management System)
• Podcasts – An episodic series of audio
or text files streamed online.

your audience’s age and grade
level so that you will know how
to adapt to their expected
reading ability and
comprehension.

• Content organization – order the
information from general to specific.
Make an outline through the use of a
