NILGIRI BIOSPHERE
RESERVE(NBR)
Area = 5520 km2
Included in UNESCO’s Man and the
Biosphere Programme in 2000.
NBR contains
- Dry scrub, dry and moist deciduous
- Semi-evergreen and wet evergreen forests
- Two endangered species- the niligiri tahr
and the lion-tailed Macaque
