INTRODUCTION
► Nowadays there has been a very large
increase in road accident due to
drowsiness of driver while driving which
leads to enormous fatal accidents .
► The driver lose his control when he
falls sleep which leads to accident .
► Driver in-alertness is an important
cause for most accident related to the
vehicles crashes.
► Drowsy driver warning system can form
the basis of the system to possibly
reduce the accidents related to driver's
drowsiness.

LITERATURE SURVEY
In modern-times, owing to hectic schedules it becomes very difficult to
remain active all the time. Imagine a situation where a person is driving
home from work, dead tired after facing all the challenges of the day.
The hands are on the wheel and foot on the pedal but suddenly started
feeling drowsy, the eyes start shutting and the vision blurs and before it
knew, then the person fall asleep.
Falling asleep on the wheel can lead to serious consequences, there may
be accidents and people may even lose their lives.
This situation is much more common and hence, it is very important to
counter this problem. So to address this issue, the Project Anti-Sleep
Alarm for Drivers is introduced.

5
ADVANTAGES
► It is used to avoid the accidents.
► It is more-efficient and simple to use.
► The Device is useful especially for people who travel long
distance and Drive late at night.
► Using this Device helps the driver to wake up when he/she
asleep while Driving.
► Affordable Cost and Portable Size.

6
OBJECTIVES
► The goal of this project is to develop a device that can
accurately detect sleepy driving and make alarms
accordingly, which aims to prevent the drivers from
drowsy driving and create a safer driving environment.
► Truck drivers with tight schedules often find themselves
having freight overnight so this is very useful for them.
► An anti sleep alarm is helpful to us as it keeps tired eyes
open and brains alert while driving as sleep is dangerous.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

► Arduino Uno
► Arduino Pro Mini X1
► IR Sensor X1
► Transistor BC547 X1
► Buzzer X1
► Resistors 4.7K x1
► 9 V Battery X1
► Glasses Frame X1
► Male and female wires
► Switch

⮚ SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

Arduino IDE Software

► The Arduino software (IDE) is an open source software, which is used to

programe the Arduino boards, and is an integrated development environment,
devloped by arduino.cc.
► Allow to write and upload code to arduino boards. And it consists of many
libraries and a set of examples of mini projects.
► Arduino software (IDE) is compatible with different operating systems
(Windows, Linux, Mac OS X), and supports the programming languages (C/C+
+)

OUTPUTS
✔ The working of this project is based on an
Infra Red Sensor , this sensor is the heart
of this project.
✔ The anti-sleep alarm uses buzzer
technology to detect when the driver is
feeling drowsy.
✔ The alarm is connected to a sensor that
measures the driver's eye movements.
✔ Firstly the driver needs to on the switch
and when the driver's eyes close for about
2 seconds, the buzzer will sound, alerting
the driver to wake up and when the
person come back to his normal state
he/she needs to off that switch.
12
APPLICATIONS

► Not only for Drivers but also, the device is used in number of
ways like, ATM Guard Security, Military Base Security, bank
security.
► Integration of anti-sleep alarm systems in emergency
response vehicles to ensure the alertness of drivers during
critical situations, enhancing the efficiency and safety of
emergency services.
► Implementation of anti-sleep alarm systems in various
sectors of the transportation and logistics industry, including
cargo ships and airplanes, where alertness of drivers and
operators is critical for safety.
13
Conclusion
❑ In closing, our project represents commitment to driving consciously,
protecting lives and fostering a future where every driver can reach their
destination safely.
❑ As we move forward let’s remember the impact of our work and the lives it can
potentially save.
