INTRODUCTION
The use of words have been very essential for
communication through the centuries. From
writings on the wall ,to hand gestures (sign
language}, communication with the human voice
and even today when we use emojis to
communicate feelings , it is seen that
communication and interpretation serve an
important role in our every day lives. In this
presentation we’ll be majorly focusing on the topic
“ORAL INTERPRETATION “
ORIGIN AND MEANING OF THE WORD
“ORAL”
The word “oral” originated from the Latin word which is “os” which means mouth
It can also be defined as the use of voice (vocals) to pass messages, ideas and feelings.

“INTERPRETATION”
The word “interpretation” is gotten directly from the latin words “interpretari” and
“interpres”.
The word “interpretari” means to “explain” or ”expound”
The word “interpres“ means “agent” ,”translator”
So basically ,the definition of the word “interpretation” can be defined as the process of
explaining or expounding on a particular topic with the aid/help of a translator.
Interpretation deals with a the translator’s perception on the message passed across.
