Intra-regional Trade and Transit
 Implementation of local government regulatory
 Make available transport facilities among inter-cities
( road, rail or water) and deliver goods one place to
another place without transshipment cost.
 Increase inter-cities exchange of rail wagons for carrying
goods
 Updated customs procedures and take necessary steps
 Inter-cities trade should be a ‘win-win’ transaction
Priorities for Action: Alleviating poverty
 Dredging rivers for enhancing water transport
 Intra city railroads should be establish and upgrade as
Khulna-Mongla, Khulna-Narail, Khulna-Jessore, Khulna-
Benapole, Khulna-Satkhira to reduce transport cost of
marginal class.
 Road side squatters and bazars have to provide unused
land or a specific place to reduce congestion
 Planning for disaster preparedness

Strengthening Governance in Transport
 KCC should have a clear commitment of zero corruption
and priorities to invest in not only roads and highway but
also vehicles
 Number of easy bike and private vehicles should be
reduce
 Inter city bus service should be upgrade

 Promote public private partnership
 Railroad should be developed as Mongla-Khulna-Benapole to
reduce transport cost and increase trade with India
 Complete the conversion of Mongla port into the landlord port
model
