“THE IMPLEMENTATION OF 6 TENETS OF

GOVERNANCE IN BRGY. CALAOCAN, ALICIA

A VISION THAT LEADS INTO ACTION”
Introduction
Good governance became essential in the pursuit of sustainable
development. Public administration refers to the processes and
institutions involved in managing public affairs, allocating public
resources and ensuring the protection of human rights in all aspects.
They should not be separable. In other perspective, governance was
defined as the task ofrunning a government or any other appropriate
entity whether national, regionalprovincial, city and local for that
matter.
Introduction
Governance has become a very dynamic idea in
recent years, gaining a lot of attention and momentum in
the academic field. Anent to this, our team was created to
expand its concept and how it applies through participation
in the Basic Political Unit (BPU) of the Philippines
(locally known as the barangay). Our team has chosen
Barangay Caloocan, located in the heart of Alicia, Isabela.
This barangay is headed by Captain Mario Caloza.

Conclusion
In general, it can be said that Barangay Calaocan is one of the 34 barangays
in Alicia. Thus, Barangay Calaocan is considered a good governance
barangay. From the past up to the present, despite its large size, area, and
population, Calaocan has shown consistent improvement in its
management. This improvement is evident in the lifestyles of its residents
and the influx of businesses. However, there are certain aspects that the
barangay can still improve on.
