Future Perfect Tense
When you want to talk about an action that will happen before a certain point in the
future, you will need to use the future perfect tense. The Future Perfect Tense is a verb
form that expresses an action or situation that will have taken place before a future
event or a point in time. It's generally used to describe an event or situation that is
completed (or will be completed) before a future event or point in time.
The Future Perfect Tense consists of the auxiliary verb “will” (shall) to mark the
future, the auxiliary verb “have” to mark the perfect, and the past participle of the main
verb.
Future Perfect Tense
Positive Sentence:
S + will + have + past participle
Example:
He will have done it by this evening.
Negative Sentence:
S + will + not + have + past participle
Example:
He will not have done it by this evening.
Question Form:
Will + S + have + past participle
Example:
Will he have done it by this evening?
Future Perfect Progressive Tense
The Future Perfect Progressive is formed by combining the modal “will“, the
auxiliary verb “have“, “been“, and the present participle of the main verb (with
an -ing ending).
Future Perfect Progressive Tense
Positive Sentence:
S + will + have + been + V-ing
Example:
I will have been eating vegetables for three months.
Negative Sentence:
S + will + not + have + been + V-ing
Example:
I won’t have been eating vegetables for three months.
Question Form:
