1. Co2 Emission 1. Need to place/replace formwork 2. Little room for On-Site 2. Long curing time Modification 3. Quality control 3. Costly 4. Not environment friendly LIGHT GAUGE FRAMING STRUCTURE(LGFS) It is comparatively newer construction technology. It is developed without the use of heat through the cold-formed process (at room temperatures), which allows steel manufacturers to produce a lightweight but high tensile steel sheets. A screenshot taken of a home developed by using LGFS. Due to depletion of our natural resources like timber, rocks, sand & clay. The use of LGFS became an attractive alternative for construction. LGFS is being widely used in various parts of America, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. These are usually of C or S-shaped sections. The sheet surface is then coated with a zinc alloy that prevents it from corrosion. All the frames come with a pre-drilling hole to attach. The steel frame structures are durable and are designed to last a minimum period of 50 years. The LGSF buildings are of lightweight and do not require any complex deep foundations. For uniform grounds, buildings can be easily erected on Strip or Shallow foundations, and for non-uniform grounds, pile foundation is preferable. Wall Cladding shall be designed to resist Wind load & to provide Fire/Sound Resistance :- The frame is filled with Insulation materials –Fibreglass or Rockwool Materials used to cover the walls - Gypsum Board & Heavy-Duty Cement Particle Board
GYPSUM BOARD ROCKWOOL CEMENT PARTICLE
FIBREGLASS BOARD BENEFITS Negligible Strong But Less Vulnerable Speed Material Light(Easy To Earthquakes Wastage Transportation)
No Termite Easy For Can Be Used
Problem(unlike Expansion & Recyclable For Mass In Wood) Relocation. Housing
High Precision Less
Of LGSF Maintenance •Proper Fire protection must be ensured •Proper sound proofing must be done •Can’t be used to make High Rise LIMITATIONS Buildings •Buckling can happen if load is not distributed uniformly.
