through the special effects of computers. Puppets
are used to tell stories. They can share secrets,
read, and play with you. It is interesting to learn
how to make a puppet then take the challenge on
how you can make them come alive.
There are a few things you need to consider before making
a puppet. You need to decide on the following:
• Will the puppet be a boy or a girl?
• Will the puppet be a human or an animal?
• If it’s a human, will it be old or young?
• If it is and animal, will it fly, walk, or swim?
• Will the puppet be a hero or a villain?
• Will the puppet sing, dance, do both, or just talk and talk?
• What is the setting of the story? Will it be during the olden
times, the present, or the future?
• Planning on making a puppet
❖ The roles of your puppet will be your guide on how
it should look and what it should wear.
❖ Take note also of how you will hold the puppet you
created. Will it be with just one finger, two or three
fingers, on hand or bot hands? You need to make
sure it fits perfectly so you will not have a hard time
controlling it.
❖ Once you have finalized your plan, you will be able
to work on your puppet.
