Monument to the revolution

Unfinished architectural work, it began as the dome of a Palace


for the Federal Legislative Branch. Porfirio Díaz laid the first
stone in 1910. Architect Carlos Obregón Santacilia proposed
and gained support for the idea of ​converting the structure into
a monument to the heroes of the Mexican Revolution. The
monument is the final resting place of Francisco “Pancho”
Villa, Francisco I. Madero, Plutarco Elías Calles, Venustiano
Carranza, and Lázaro Cárdenas.
There is also an underground museum, National Museum of the Revolution. This is located on
the ground floor of the monument, where an account of Mexican history is made from 1867 to
1917. In addition, here you will find 400 pieces on display such as flags, documents and
photographs.
