How to use “DIFF” Excel sheet for

Comparison of FEM Double Cycle

and Horizontal Transport of Pallet

14/6/2010
1
Storage of Pallet in Racking
(Reach Truck and Stacker FEM Cycle)
Objective- To give a fair evaluation
Objective
To give a fair evaluation of performance between BT and Competitors Reach Trucks
and Stackers trucks

Analysis
by comparing performance on:
 Travel speed with Load
 Travel speed without Load
 Lift speed with Load
 Lift Speed without Load
 Lowering Speed with Load
 Lowering Speed without Load

Since all these functions are included in a FEM double Cycle it

therefore gives the most Comprehensive picture of the trucks performance.

Results
 Difference in performance in seconds
 Difference in performance in %
 Difference in pallets/hour
Explaining FEM Double Cycle

Travel, P&D to P1,

Lift Forks (load) to P1
Lowering Forks (empty) from P1
Travel, P1 t0 P2,
Lift Forks (empty) to P2
Lowering Forks (load) from P2
Travel, P2 to P&D
Turns, Mast reach/retract (acc/braking)
Admin, 10 sec per pallet (2 pallet=20 seconds)

We apply 60% utilization on non- guided trucks

70% utilization on guided trucks (VNA)

Results Difference in Cycle time and No. of Pallets

Result BT Competitor

FEM cycle in seconds 189.80 230.47

Pallet per hour 19.0 15.6

Difference in Seconds 40.67

Difference in % 21%

Difference in Pallet/hour 3.3

Difference Cycle in Seconds, if positive value , then BT is faster

Difference in Cycle Time in %, if positive value , then BT is faster
Difference in Pallet/hour- if positive, then BT is handling more pallets
Horizontal Transport of Pallets
(BOPT pallet movements)
Objective- To give a fair evaluation
Objective
To give a fair evaluation of performance between BT and Competitors BOPT
To give an estimate on no of pallet that can be transported per hour

Analysis
by comparing performance on:
 Travel speed with Load
 Travel speed without Load
 Lift speed with Load
 Lowering Speed with Load

Since these functions are included when Transporting a pallet it gives

A good indication of the trucks performance.

Results
 Difference in performance in seconds
 Difference in performance in %
 Difference in pallets/hour
