A vector is a quantity that has bthoth
magnitude and direction.In math,
vectors are represented by a line with
an arrow, where the length of the line
is the magnitude and the arrow shows
e direction. Vectors can be added and
scaled. Some operations that can be
performed on vectors include:
Addition, Subtraction, and
Multiplication.
Some examples of vectors in nature
include: velocity, momentum, force,
electromagnetic fields, and weight.
Radar Vectors: A Guide to Air Traffic Control Navigation

Radar vectors are instructions given by ATC to pilots

to help navigate their aircraft along a desired flight
path.
Radar vectors are particularly useful when flying in
areas with high traffic volume or complex airspace.
Instead of following a predetermined flight plan,
pilots can receive instructions from ATC to turn left
or right, climb or descend, and adjust their speed to
avoid other aircraft or obstacles. By following these
instructions, pilots can stay on course and maintain a
safe distance from other aircraft in the area.
Military: Vectors are used in artillery that fires
projectiles.
A surprisingly huge amount of math is used today in
artillery branch of service. More so than in the past
but most of today’s is done with the help of computers
on the artillery pieces or in the Fire Direction Center.
GPS has all but eliminated the need for surveying in
firing points or actually doing military surveying to
less than first order anymore. Firing computers and
accuracy improvements, as well as guided projectiles
and extended ranges of artillery weapons have all but
eliminated much of the tedious math or skill sets
requiring math that was needed even 20 years ago. So
while a large amount of what the artillery does
involves math and formulaic consideration computers
do the heavy lifting in those areas now.
Meteorology: Vectors are used to describe
wind conditions.
 In meteorology, vectors are used to represent wind
direction and speed. Wind vectors are black arrows
that point in the direction of the wind, with the size of
the arrow indicating the wind's intensity. For
example, if the wind is blowing from west to east, the
wind vectors will be stronger near the blue arrow. In
meteorology, vector fields are useful for representing
wind patterns. For example, wind vectors can indicate
regions of upper level convergence and divergence,
which indicate regions of upward and downward
motion. The ribbon of strongest winds is called the jet
stream.
Vectors in Gaming
In Gaming vectors are used to store positions,
directions and velocities. The position vection
indicates how far the object is. Velocity vector
indicate how much time will it take or how
much force we should give and the direction
vector indicates in which way we should apply
the force. In game development, vectors have
two or three dimensions, depending on
whether the game is 2D or 3D. They are used
to represent geometrical properties of objects
within the game world, such as rotation and
position.
Boat Crossing a River
A boat crossing a river is an example of vector
algebra. The boat's motor generates a force in one
direction, and the current of the river generates a force
in another direction. Both forces are vectors. The
velocity of the boat relative to the shore is the vector
sum of the velocity of the boat relative to the water and
the velocity of the water relative to the shore.

Vbs=Vbw+Vws
Vbs = velocity of the boat relative to the shore
Vbw = velocity of the boat relative to the water
Vws = velocity of the water relative to the shore.
