BASIC EMBROIDERY STITCHES
RUNNING STITCH

They can be used as the basis for some composite stitches, and can have a
contrasting thread interlaced in them.
BACK STITCH

It is a utility stitch which strongly and permanently attaches two pieces of fabric.
The small stitches done back-and-forth makes the back stitch the strongest stitch among the basic
stitches.
BLANKET (BUTTONHOLE)
STITCH

Useful for finishing the edges of blankets or for creating buttonholes.

CHAIN STITCH

It can leave an ornate, thick and textured line. Since it's slightly larger than other
stitch types, the chain stitch is also effective at filling up space in garments.
LAZY DAISY STITCH

This stitch is often used to make petal shapes and small leaf patterns.
FERN STITCH

It resembles a fern leaf and so, a good stitch to do vegetal designs.
