• This rhyme
creates a pattern
within the poem,
called rhyme
scheme, which

more interesting.

RHYTHM
•the pattern of
stressed and
unstressed syllables
in each line, giving
the poem a regular
beat.

called “foot”.
One kind of metered foot is
the iamb, which is a unit of
rhythm consisting of one
