PROBLEM STATEMENT

1. Fragmented Information, regarding disaster events, emergency contacts, and available resources,
leads to confusion and delays in response efforts.

2. Governments and communities often do not invest in resilience, due to resilience being politically
unpopular, difficult to fund, and challenging to customize general resilience techniques to specific
situations.

3. All facets of communication are weakened during a disaster. Recovery coordination becomes
difficult. Information and important data are lost.

4. Timely and accurate information dissemination is vital during a disaster.

5. Lack of user-friendly interfaces fails to cater to individuals with varying levels of technological
proficiency.

Solution

The basic idea of the web application we made is to ensure that users will be able to get
notifications at the time of any calamity like earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes by receiving alerts
from anyone who gets to know about the calamity quickly through images posted online or any
common text broadcasts. Once the user is informed of the calamity, they can follow the
emergency steps to be taken during the time of the calamity.
We have also incorporated government agencies to notify in case of a hurricane or flood
beforehand through the application and provide various fast access emergency numbers in the
application. In all, the alertness and consciousness of the people and government agencies near
the calamity area can help to broadcast the calamities like hurricanes and floods while
earthquakes can also be known by the same.
