FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF COUNTING
The Fundamental Principle of Counting states
that if one thing occur in m ways and a second
thing occur in n ways, and a third thing can
occur in p ways and so on , then the sequence of
things can be occurred in m x n x p… ways
USING THE FUNDAMENTAL
COUNTING PRINCIPLE
1. Flipping a Coin Twice
1st flip : 2 outcomes (H, T)
2nd flip : 2 outcomes (T, H)
By multiplying its outcome on each flip ,
you will be able to find its total number
of occurrences
2 outcomes x 2 outcomes = 4 Possible

OUTCOME IN THE EXPERIMENT
2. A pair of dice is rolled once.
1st Rolled die : 6 outcomes {1,2,3,4,5,6}
2nd Rolled die : 6 outcomes {1,2,3,4,5,6}
By multiplying its outcome on each flip ,
you will be able to find its total number
of occurrences
6 outcomes x 6 outcomes = 36 Possible
