Definition of Autism
• Autism also referred to as autism spectrum disorder
constitutes a diverse group of conditions related to
development of the brain
• Characterized by abnormalities of social development,
communication and a restriction of behavior and
interest.
Statistic and Facts
• According to the CDC, around 1% of the world’s
population has autism spectrum disorder
• Country with highest rate of diagnosed autism
is Qatar, and country with lowest rate is France
• About 4 times as many boys are diagnosed
with autism as girls.
