FUEL FI R I NG

ARR ANG EM EN TS
AND
BURNERS

1
Fuel Firing Arrangements
• In the PF Boiler Pulverised coal discharged from the coal mill carried
by means of PF fan air by means of coal pipes to the corners of boiler
furnace.
• Oil – Light oil (LO) at the time of light up and Heavy Oil (HO) are
discharged from oil handling plant brought to the furnace corners
through separate pipelines which are accompanied by oil tracing lines
and insulated.
• Air for combustion is supplied by FD Fan heated through APH
(Secondary and Primary) brought to furnace corners through Wind
Box.

7
Fuel Firing Arrangements
• HSD Igniters or HEA Igniters are provided at each corner for light up of
LO guns.
• Oil supports till the self sustainable coal flame is established.
• The LO/HO Oil is atomised with Air or steam.
• Flame scanners are provided at each corner of each elevation to
sense the flame
• Scanner Air fans and Igniter air fans are provided.
• FD fans hot air (through APH) is supplied through modulating air
dampers on the corner at each elevation.

8
Oil Firing system
• Boiler is equipped for Heavy Oil Firing at elevations AB,CD and EF.
• W.O.(warm up or LO) firing at AB elevation.
• WO oil guns used for cold start igniters for light up the WO guns
• HO guns for stabilizing flame and take up low load.
• Warm Up Oil System.
