by stigma, and majority of South Africa's
individuals with mental illness (75%) do not
receive intervention

Challenges and Demands of Mental Health in
World of Work (A Collaboration between
UKZN and Girleada)
We assessed the needs of the community
(Girleada) and intervened by conducting a
workshop to assist then with skills in the
workplace. These skills included
punctuality, dresscode, management and
hierarchies and so forth.
This workshop aided in promoting optimal
emotional well being by acquiring skills
for the workplace to reduce work related
stressors. We were able to address the
needs identified through this workshop,
through reducing the distress that may by
