The house needs to be cleaned.

away any bad luck.
 Food needs to be cooked.
On New Year’s Day, families come together to celebrate. Lots of food
needs to be cooked as everyone will be hungry.
 The house needs decorating.
The house will need to be decorated ready for the celebrations. Lanterns and
banners will need to be hung up. These are usually red and gold.
 Special clothes are worn.
People will often wear new and special clothes to celebrate Chinese New Year.
