Microsoft Powerpoint
Microsoft PowerPoint was originally created by Robert Gaskins and Dennis Austin at
Forethought, Inc. It was first released for the Macintosh computer in 1987 under the
name "Presenter" and later renamed PowerPoint
For short, this is important as it used for communication in used in business, education,
and other fields for creating presentations for meetings, lectures, and various types of

Creating Presentations: In creating a presentation, You can select if you want a blank
presentation or use a template provided by Microsoft.
• Open Microsoft PowerPoint
• Select your desired template/presentation
Once you have created a presentation, you can fully customize your work. Using the tools
provided in the control panels, you can add photos, animations, diagrams, drawings, notes, and
other elements to personalize and design your presentation.
Sharing/Presenting PowerPoints: You can use the slideshow tool on the control panel above to
present your works on meetings and discussions. To share, upload the presentation to
OneDrive and enter the names of the other participants or copy and share the link to others.

PARTS of PowerPoint
FILE MENU
It is used to perform many of the common tasks such as changing fonts, cutting and
pasting text and images into presentations, changing paragraph formats, drawing
objects, and editing text.
Design Tab
This tab is used to apply a design to a PowerPoint presentation. It is also possible to make
changes to the slide size, slide background, and other design attributes.
Review Tab
This tab is used to check the spelling in the presentation, to add comments to different
slides within the presentation, and to protect the presentation so that others cannot make
revisions
View Tab
This tab is used to view the presentation in different formats, it is also used to view more
than one PowerPoint window at a time, or to decide whether to display the ruler within
the window.
Insert tab
It is used to insert different features such as tables, pictures, clip art, shapes, charts, page
numbers, word art, or headers, and footers into a presentation.
Animations Tab
On the Animations tab, in the Advanced Animation group, click Animation Pane. The
Animation Pane opens on the side of the workspace pane, showing the order, type, and
duration of animation effects applied to text or objects on a slide.
Slide Show Tab
Located at the top of the PowerPoint window, the title bar displays the name of
the presentation and includes options to minimize, maximize/restore, or close the
application..
Slide Layouts
Located at the top of the PowerPoint window,

presentation and includes options to minimize,
maximize/restore, or close the application..
Notes Pane
Located below the Slide Pane, the Notes Pane
allows users to add speaker notes or additional
information related to each slide. These notes
are not visible during the presentation but can
be useful for reference while presenting.
Status Bar
Located at the bottom of the PowerPoint
window, the Status Bar provides information
about the current slide number, layout, and
zoom level. It also includes View options and
controls for slide navigation
Task Panes
Task Panes are additional windows that
provide access to specific features or tools,
such as the Selection Pane, Animation Pane,
and Slide Master.
Slide Sorter View
A view mode that displays thumbnails of all
slides in the presentation, allowing users to
easily rearrange, delete, or duplicate slides.
Presenter View
When presenting in full-screen mode with
multiple monitors, Presenter View provides
speakers with additional tools and
information, such as slide notes, elapsed
time, and upcoming slides, while the
audience sees only the current slide.
