WHAT IS MICROSOFT
POWERPOINT
(you'll need this later)
Microsoft Powerpoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation software developed by Microsoft. It allows

users to create slideshows incorporating text, images, videos, and other multimedia
elements to present information in a visually engaging manner

Microsoft PowerPoint was originally created by Robert Gaskins and Dennis Austin at
Forethought, Inc. It was first released for the Macintosh computer in 1987 under the
name "Presenter" and later renamed PowerPoint

For short, this is important as it used for communication in used in business, education,
and other fields for creating presentations for meetings, lectures, and various types of
communication

TRIVIA?
Not all the times but Microsoft PowerPoint can be

Multimedia presentation
it is a computer software package used to show information, normally in
the form of a slide show. It includes mostly three major functions:
1. an editor that allows text to be inserted and formatted

2. a method for inserting and manipulating graphic images

3. and slideshow system to display the content

BUT NOT ALL THE TIMES

Not all PowerPoint presentations are multimedia presentations because

not all presentations require or utilize multimedia elements such as
images, videos, or audio. Some presentations may be purely text-based,
using bullet points or paragraphs to convey information without the need
for multimedia content. Others may focus solely on data analysis, using
charts and graphs to illustrate numerical data.
PROBLEMS!
COMPLEXITY: MS Powerpoint offers a variety
of features that may lead to new users of the
application to be overwhelmed and confused in
using the application.

COMPATABILITY: Like any other application,

The MS Powerpoint displays the presentation
differently to other used devices or platforms

SLOW PERFORMANCE: Slow performance may occur

when presentations are complex or large, that may lead
to Ms Powerpoint to become unresponsive and slow.
PROBLEMS!
Limited Design Options: Ms Powerpoint is
known for its simplicity in powerpoint making,
but due to the development of people creating
powerpoints this may be considered as a problem
in creating presentation

Limited Multimedia Support: Ms Powerpoint allows

media to be put into the presentations, like Audios and
Videos that in some cases problems can occur when
using those type of media.

Collaboration Difficulties: Although The Ms

Powerpoint offers collaboration, it would be hard for
users to collaborate with each other especially when the
users are not in the same location.
OFFERING SOLUTIONS
Use Portrait or Landscape Orientation:
On a page that is landscape - oriented,
several of your slides don't seem right.
Fortunately, you can also include slides
that are portrait-oriented in your
presentation.

Change the Font for the Whole

Presentation: You don't have to alter the
font on each slide if you don't like it in
your presentation. The fonts can be
changed globally

Powerpoint Design Ideas

PowerPoint’s Design Ideas automatically and

instantly provides you will several design options
for a particular slide based on the content that is
present on the slide.

Design Ideas can help you save a good amount of

time and make your slides look good. It is a great
feature for those who perhaps want to improve
the design of the slides but are not really great at
creating designst of recently edited files
Animations

Entrance Animation - make a shape, text, or any

other element appear in a slide.
Exit Animation - makes a shape, text, or any
other element disappear in a slide.
Emphasis Animation - can be use when you want
to highlight a particular element in a slide.s
Slide Transitions

Cut, reveal, shapes, uncover, and wipe are the

notable transitions.

Animation applies a special affect on a specific

or single element. However, transitions applies a
special effect when you need to exit one slide
and move to another.s
Images

If your presentation feels slightly boring, don’t

be afraid to throw in an image. Most
presentations requires images, anyways. It is
easy to understand why adding images to your
presentation can help you say more than you
could while using words.
Merge Shapes

If merging shapes is still not giving you what you

want, there is another option that you can use.
These are known as “smart-art”. It can help you
transform your presentation into something
phenomenal..
Videos

If you don’t have the video on your PC and you

cannot find it on YouTube but you know where it
is on another website, all you need to do is get
the embed code for that video. This can often be
done just by right-clicking on the video, copying
the embed code, and then you can embed it into
your presentation.
Icons

Icons are also found on the web. They would

need to be saved to the PC as an image and then
again, with some clever aligning skills, nobody
would know the difference.
Powerpoint Notes for Presentation

The notes feature is not just there for to

remember what to say and a lot of people tend to
overlook this. If working in a team, then using
notes can help other employees or other people
who are working on the presentation understand
what’s happening on each slide.
Morph Transition

It is important to remember that the slides where

Morph Transition is used, need to have at least
one element that has something in common
between both the slides.
Removing Backgrounds from Images

It then works almost the exact same way as all

other photo editing software. You will draw
around the piece you want to keep or the piece
you want to get rid of
Video Editing (Basic)

Being able to use PowerPoint as a quick video

editor adds to the convenience of PowerPoint. It
also adds to your overall productivity because
you don’t have to open and close program after
program to get everything done
Export Powerpoint as Video

If you don’t want to send somebody a

presentation that they could edit or see the notes
for and you just want them to watch it, this
feature is for you. Why not export it as a video
and give whoever you send the video to the
ability to watch it at their own time, pause it at
their own time, and take notes.
Add Audio Narration to your PPT
Presentation

This feature is Great for teachers who just want

to give the classroom information in the most
efficient way possible. In fact, with online
learning becoming more relevant than ever in
2020, this feature has picked up in popularity.
This feature is also great for presentations that
are designed to be given as instructional videos.
Adding Comments to Slides

The feature to add comments in PowerPoint is

more about the person who reviews a
presentation rather than the person who creates
it.

Some people get comments mixed up with notes

but they are two different features that have two
different applications.
