NEBULAR HYPOTHESIS

OF LAPLACE

By Prashant Kumar Pandey

Roll no: 60
Introduction

• Proposed by Marquis De Laplace in the late 18th

century.
• A fundamental theory explaining the formation of
our solar system.
Hypothesis
◦ Proposed by mathematician named Marquis De Laplace in 1796.
◦ Everything Sun, Stars, Planets, Asteroids has been created by the Nebula clouds.
◦ Sun was a giant cloud of gasses (Nebula).
◦ Nebula cloud was made from Hydrogen, Helium and other sorts of dust particles.
◦ Due to the gravity and cooling of the gas got contracted, which forced the cloud of hydrogen,
helium and dust particles rotate heavily.
◦ Due to that most of the hydrogen and helium elements (Low density elements) came to the
center.
