The outer casing consists of a top and a bottom half, which are made of cast steel.
The top half and the bottom half of the outer casing are bolted together with
hydraulically tightened expansion studs.

The cylindrical outer casing is split horizontally on the level of the rotor axis center in
to upper and lower half.
The inner casing is split horizontally on the level of the rotor axis center and held
together by expansion studs, which are hydraulically tightened with recorded pre
stress.
HP ROTOR
The high-pressure rotor is machined from forged steel. The rotor blades are
inserted into the radial grooves of the rotor.

The cast inner casing is provided with a 360° inlet spiral; it is horizontally split
on the level of the turbine axis and bolted together by means of hydraulically
tightened expansion studs.
HP ROTOR
The rotor of the low pressure turbine consists of several disks and two shaft
ends that are welded together. The rotor has two balancing planes; the
balancing holes on the front side are accessible through openings in the outer
casing. The coupling flanges are integral part of the rotor.

A vacuum breaker is mounted on the low pressure outer casing and is used to break
partly or thoroughly the vacuum in order to reach a determined condenser pressure
Vacuum breaker valve is DC operated
LP TURBINE DIAPHRAGM
On the outer casing upper half, a rupture disk is mounted to protect the
condenser and to prevent over-pressure in the LP-turbine

SOLAPUR STPP
The live steam stop and control valves and the intercept stop and control valves
are operated electro-hydraulically
Valves are designed according to the hydraulic fail safe principle, e.g. hydraulic
pressure to open, spring force to close.
The stop valves are controlled by the electronic turbine protection system via 3
trip solenoid valves whereas the electronic turbine controller acts on the control
valves via electro- hydraulic transducers.
The valves are testable during normal operation without tripping the turboset.
