“MANGROVE ASSESSMENT IN SELECTED AREAS

OF BANACON ISLAND”
OVERVIEW:

Mangroves are tropical plants that are adapted to loose, wet soils,
salt water and being periodically submerged by tides. The planting
of mangroves is essential to coastal ecosystems. In addition to
acting as a barrier against storm surges, it helps prevent erosion
and provide habitat for marine species. Climate change mitigation
and biodiversity conservation are aided by initiatives that assist
mangrove reforestation. This study aims to evaluate the status,
condition, and function of the mangrove ecosystem.
