Project Background
EHAD HAP
Project
Ehad Innovations and Infrastructure Limited is on the market proposing
to construct about 200,000 housing units on a phased approach in the
newly created districts and remote rural areas in Zambia on a PPP
model.

However this does not mean that the urban areas with planned
settlements areas will not benefit from this housing project.

With current mass recruitments its envisaged that the

lack of decent housing will be a big problem especially in
rural areas.

The project is planned in such a way that even in remote

standalone sites such as a Government Schools, Health
Post will have small clusters of houses with the basic
requirements.
IDEAL
EHAD HAP
Project
SITUATIONto the United Nations SDGs vision 2030 - it clearly states that every
According
person has a fundamental human right to adequate standard of living .It is
expected that
despite a place being in a remote or rural area the basic living conditions
should be provided as follows;
1.Decent housing.
2.Clean running water, sanitation and hygiene.
3.Access to electricity.

CURRENT SITUATION

The 1991 /1996 period saw the loss of housing cash inflows for the councils
through the sale of all council houses to sitting tenants. In many rural and per
urban areas including new districts in Zambia many people continue
to live in sub standard housing infrastructure below the UN charter article
25.1 ,non planned settlements ,no access to clean water, bad sanitation
conditions.
This is mostly because we have had no good housing programs in the country
