PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
To bring efficiency to ITCs procurement process. It directly links the rural farmers with the company for the procurement of agricultural and aquaculture products (like soya beans, coffee and prawns).

After the floods in Bihar in 2008, HUL contributed 10, 000 kits worth Rs. 60 lakh as first instalment of relief material for the immediate relief of the flood affected families of Araria District in Bihar. The kit contained essential items such as utensils clothes Blankets.

IMPACT OF IGNORANCE ON ENVIRONMENT


Oil on the water surface can catch fire and pollute the air. Oil can react with oxygen in the air to form acids that are carried by wind and eventually fall back to the ground as acid rain. Oil washes up on beaches and marshes resulting in life threatening habitats for wildlife species.

CONSEQUENCES o Ecology
As of Nov-10, 6814-Dead animals collected. Birds like pelicans,herons and Sea Turtles. Fishes, Dolphins and other mammals. Shrimps, Crabs, Pyrosomes and Coral reefs also affected. Four Bird rehabilitation centers, seven marine mammal and Sea turtle rehabilitation centers were opened.

OTHER CONSEQUENCES

Many people cancelled their vacations due to the spill. Fall in real estate prices.
