ENERGY SPEED BUMP

you hit it, you lit it

Introduction
Energy speed bump is an energy harvesting system that generates electricity from kinetic energy. It resembles a speed bump and is able to generate electrical energy when vehicles pass over it, without the need to reduce their speed.

Scope
to be placed beneath the road function with the force exerted onto it amount of electricity generated depends on mass and speed electricity generated will then be directed to street lamps or even signboard It can also be used at the door mate, grand entrance, stairs and toll plaza.

Novelty
A portable electricity-generating speed bump that does not reduce the speed of vehicles when they pass over it

Significance of the project

To reduce the burden of the government Reduce environmental pollution Enhance the current safety level of roads

As an alternative source of energy which is cleaner and greener to generate electricity

Results and discussion

Relationship between mass of the load and the voltage produced.

To study this relationship, a load of mass 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 kg is raised at height 10 cm and released on the bump. The reading of the voltage is taken.

Relationship between speed and the voltage produced.

To study this relationship, a load of mass 5 kg is raised at a height of 5 cm and then released on the bump. The reading of the voltage is taken. The experiment is repeated by using height 10, 15, 20 and 25 cm. Velocity, v, of the load is measured by using the formula

Implementations
