Page Setup – to set up various dimensions of a document.

(1)Page orientation and page margin

Firstly from the File menu, select Page Setup

Then in the Page Setup dialog box, click the Margins tab.

Margins – sets up the distance you want


your text to be from the document edge.

Orientation – sets up hot you want your


document to be laid or printed as.
Two types of orientation: Portrait or
Landscape

Also in the Page Setup dialog box, click the Paper tab. Under paper
size, you choose the type of paper size you want your paper to print
on. The standard is “A4” but if you are not sure of the type of paper
you are using, you can key in the dimensions of your paper by
selecting Custom. Once you have made your choices, click OK to
apply them to the document.

Activity:

(1)Open the document “Word3” in the pupils activity folder for

Yr3A.

(2) Go to the File menu and click Page Setup.

(3) Select the Margin tab and set the margin: Top 1”, Bottom 1”,

Left 1.25”, Right 1.25”

(4) Select your orientation as Portrait.

(5) Select the Paper tab and choose A4 as your paper size.

(6) Click OK.

(7)Read through the paragraph given in the document file.

(8)Make changes in the capital letters for new sentences or give

full stops where you think should be present.

(9) Once you are finished, click on the File menu and Save your

file.
