PRAYER AND PRAISE

Praise the Lord for the work that Hes doing in and through the lives of so many individuals and families at WHAC! Please pray for the Lords anointing on The Hope Project, which seeks to see widespread evangelism in NZ throughout 2014. Please pray that the Lord would show us what He wants us to address this coming year as we review various aspects of our church life and ministry in the coming months. Please pray for Don and Phyllis Dalziel as they begin their married life together, and enjoy their honeymoon together! Please pray for the Nanjans as Naren is away for another several months. Pray for safety and support as Valasi manages the home alone. At least three established Alliance churches are developing plans to start daughter churches across Spain. Praise God for this growing vision to plant churches! Also, pray for Gods continued favour, protection, and blessing on these efforts.

Are you new to this facility?

We know that it can take a lot of energy to attend a new church, so please note that:
The toilets are located down the passage to the right as you exit the sanctuary. The Preschool ministry begins at the start of the service in the foyer, and 3-13 year olds are dismissed part way through the service for Sunday School. Information on who we are, as well as on all of our ministries are available online at www.whac.net.nz Each week, we share a cuppa together after the service, and would love for you to stay for a chat.

FROM ADRIAN ROGERS

May I recommend some procedures to follow in your quiet time? Get still and quiet. The Bible says in Psalm 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God. Focus your mind on Him. Calm down, relax, and recognize His presence. Take a deep breath and focus your thoughts on the Lord. Read the Bible for quality and not quantity. It's good to have a goal to read the Bible through in a year, or a similar goal; but that's not the purpose of your quiet time. Also, devotional books are wonderful. But again, this is not the place for them. This is the time when you simply read the Bible with an open mind. Meditate. As you focus on the Word of God and meditate, let it permeate you. Ask: Is there a command to obey? Is there a promise to claim? Is there a sin to avoid? Is there a lesson to learn? Is there a new truth to carry with me? Now you're ready to pray. When you pray, pour out your soul. Be natural and honest with God. Tell Him how you feel. Pray out loud. It keeps your mind on track and enables you to stay focused. Begin to share out of your quiet time. God did not make us to be reservoirs; He made us to be conduits. Tell others what is God is showing you. Finally, obey what God tells you. Your spiritual train is running on two rails. One is revelation and the other is obedience. And if either rail stops, your train stops. Learn to obey the Word of God.

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN AT WHAC

Ages 0-2 We have a supervised creche fortnightly in the north side of the foyer. Parents are welcome to either drop their kids off, or stay with them. On un-staffed weeks, facilities will be provided, but parents will need to supervise their own children. Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children.

If you have a flair for presentation and a talent with the computer, we are looking for someone to take over producing our newsletter. If you are interested please see Pastor Matt. Thanksgiving at WHAC rd On Saturday, the 3 of August, WHAC is celebrating our very own version of the Thanksgiving Holiday. While its certainly not an officially nationally recognized time, we want to officially recognize Gods goodness to us through these past 12 months, while also recognizing one anothers contributions to our lives and our church. This evening will begin at 6:30, and will feature a beautiful supper provided by the church, thanksgiving provided by the leadership, and table games provided by you! Please bring a family favourite! Did you know 2014 will be the bicentenary of the gospel in Aotearoa and the Hope Project is seeking to use that to share the reasons for the hope we have in Christ with every home in New Zealand through a gentle multimedia project. www.hopeproject.co.nz This is a unique project with a 'go to them' rather than a 'come to us' approach that meets people, where they're at, with a clear gospel message and inspirational testimonies. It will be creative and engaging. It will connect with people through their chosen media. It will open an amazing door for conversation. To find out more, please visit www.hopeproject.co.nz.
