The Southern California DIR®/Floortime™* Regional Institute

LECTURE SERIES

The morning portion of the Southern California DIR/Floortime™ Regional Institute is open to any
professional who would like to attend. For more information about the Institute or the lecture
series please go to: www.pasadenachilddevelopment.org, under training, DIR® Regional
Institute.

Overview
The program will take place over the course of 7 Saturdays.

Those wishing to attend the lecture portion of the series may attend any or all of the mornings.
(9-12 AM the first two Saturdays, and then from 9-11:30 the rest of the series -5 additional
Saturdays).

The cost for auditing the lecture series will be:

$ 45 per session or $ 225 for the compete series of 7 Saturday mornings.

Specific dates are:

Session 1: Saturday October 9, 2010 : Overview of DIR® and the regional Institute

Session 2: Saturday November 20, 2010 : Floortime™ and Interdisciplinary work

Session 3: Saturday January 22, 2011: Regulatory-sensory processing, FEDL 1 and 2

Guest faculty: Mili Cordero, Ed.D., OTR/L, BCP Occupational therapist and special educator from
Atlanta, Gerogia

Session 4: Saturday February 26, 2011: Motor Planning and Visual-Spatial Processing,
FEDL 3 and 4
Guest faculty: Brooke Hampton, BS, PT Physical therapist, California

Session 5: Saturday March 26, 2011 : Auditory Processing and Language, FEDL 5 & 6
Guest faculty: Michelle Ricamato, MA, CCC/SLP Speech and language therapist from Illinois

Session 6: Saturday April 16, 2011: Challenging Behavior, Family Function and
Dynamics

Session 7: Saturday May 14, 2011 : Parent perspectives, Cultural considerations

People who may later attend an Institute for as a Candidate for a DIR® Certificate will still need to
attend the entire institute, including all lectures, as this year’s lectures cannot provide credit for
attendance at future institutes.
