ATTACK / REFUTATION

* cultural diversification:

- the culture is made by people not the language

- One language, one culture. So, you will discover and know more deeply about this culture.

- Language just only one way which reflects culture, we can know many cultures from many
different fields

- the cultures will stay still but the language can be the same like American, Australian, and
so on speak English but they still have differrent cultures

* Job opportunity:

- Translators and interpreters will be out of job but it will open more job opportunities
for others

_Teachers would still be needed to teach that languge.

_No language aspect to worry so you can focus on other aspects
- career opportunities will never be lost for those who are always creative and progressive

* Mental development:

People can find lots of different methods to improve their intelligence not only through
learning new languages

TOPIC 2: EXAMINATION SHOULD BE ABOLISHED AT UNIVERSITY

Pros:

Examination does not define one's skill and capabilities.

- examination does not differentitate between students
- more stress for student
- people try trick or cheat at exam time

- stay up late or even skip meals just to revise for their upcoming examinations.
=> causes the lack of sleep and anxiety
_less pressure for students
_students can focus on other activities

Some cheaters go undetected and score high marks

help us save time and money

less exam will interest student in studying

Cons:

- Wouldn't classify students

- many students are not consciously learning

- exams can let the students know how well they understand the topic and where their
standard is allowing to improve

- help student's awareness of own standard

- through examination to give the right teaching method

- exams would motivate students to study

exams help student revise lesson that they slip their mind

must have an exam, students study hard

student can know what their weaknesses and strengths are

test is available to help parents assess their child's academic performance

REFUTATION:

Teacher: classify students / measure their understanding -> adjust / change teaching method

>< teacher can evaluate students through different/ other skills / ways/ methods (analysing /
leadership skills)

studying is a whole process so teacher can see through out the term

abilities are estimated whole process because sometimes has cheating on exam

Students: know weaknesses / strength + motivation to learn harder

The motivation originates from the interest in the new subject, which makes students study
better, not the exams

student can show off their skills, knowledge through presentations or essay
Nowdays, there' s been a suggestion that we should leave the exam in college, it has all the
support and disapproval. In my opinion, the abolished of tests in college has a lot of positive
aspects. Firstly, examination does not define our skill and capabilities. As we know , We
have too much knowledge to learn in a short time . Especially, some student have to stay up
late or even skip meals just to revise for their upcoming examinations. Therefore, we have
more and more stress . AS a reslts, our final test results have a low score that why the test
can' t measure our entire effort.Secondly, if we don' t have a test, we' ll have more time to
participate in outdoor activities such as go camping, go shopping, or do volunteer…. But
there are some other people said that it’s extremely bad if we leave the test in colloge.
Bescuase, the exams which can let the students know how well they understand the topic and
where their standard is allowing to improve. Moreover, the exams help student's awareness
of own standard and through examination to give the right teaching method. However, we
can totally reputate that studying is a whole process so teacher can see through out the term
.In additions, abilities are estimated whole process because sometimes we have some cheaters
go undetected and score high marks. Last but not least, the motivation originates from the
interest in the new subject, which makes students study better, it not come from the exams.
Student can show off their skills, knowledge through presentations or essay. In conclusion, in
any way, we need to learn to study hard in order to have a good knowledge

Examination should be abolished at universities as the studying pressure would decrease and
other skills would be improved.First, they do not have to cheat to pass the exam because it
does not evaluate their results in the studying process. Next, they do not have to stay up late
or even skip meals just to revise for their upcoming test so they will avoid the lack of sleep,
stress and other mental diseases. In addition, student can save both money and time to focus
on other activities which appeal to them. For example, they can take part in other clubs to
improve their soft skills like leadership or analysing skills which almost recruiters favorn in
the modern life. However, it will be difficult to classify student’s capacities so teachers can
not use suitable methods in teaching. Despite of this disadvantage, people argue that studying
is a whole process so teachers should evaluate their student through the process, not a test.

It may be that the world would be better with one language. Language is a tool to approach
everything all over the world, it would be easier when breaking barrier language with only
one. In addition, one language hepls us access to various cultures of different countries.
Furthermore, people have big chances to open up to opportunities for learning and working.
Those who disagree with this proposal might argue that the world would lose cultural
diversities if we use only one language. However, all we know that language is just only one
way which reflects culture and we can discover many cultures from many different fields. No
barrier language, no misunderstanding cultures by using only one language would be an
advantage for us to access the world easily and effectively.

Examination is a way to evaluate student’s ability, however, there are some people say that
examination should be abolished at university. In my point of view, I completely disagree
with that statement because of the following reasons. Firstly, examination is the best way for
student to help them know their weakness and strength about the subject and from it they can
know exactly what they need to improve. If there is no any examination, student will think
that they understand everything and they don’t have to improve anything at all. That is really
big disadvantage to them. Secondly, without examination, student will become lazy because
they don’t have any motivation to do it and teacher will use the lessons for what? And who is
the person that will receive it. Studying become meaningless for student because there is no
any test so why they must listen the lecture in the class. Thirdly, examination will evaluate a
student’s ability. This is time for them to use their memory, remember everything which they

The world will be better with one language. If people use a language, they will be able to
communicate with each other more. An example is if you have to communicate with
someone who shares the same language and someone with another language, make sure
communicating with people who use the same language you are much easier than people who
use the same language. that language. In fact, using the same language will cut some
unnecessary costs and time. According to statistics, the European Union, which has 23
official languages, spends 300 million dollars a year translating different languages. So if
countries use the same language, there won't be so much expense for language translation. In
addition, if the world uses the common language, your free communication with the rest of
the world will open up many opportunities for study and work, human-to-human
relationships, or national with together. You can argue that the use of the same language in
the world can lose the cultural identity of each country. However,

of understanding and hard work, we can test in different ways such as giving students
presentations or writing essays. This is easier and helps students study better than taking
theoretical tests. Therefore, educators should have different reforms to test student’ s level of
understanding. This will help schools and students reduce the burden and pressure in the
learning process.

Examination is a very wide word, which shouldn’t be abolished at university. First of all, it
helps student's awareness of own standard. The fact that you aren’t good at this field but
excellent in other skills. The second thing I should mention is that exams would motivate
students to study. Usually before testing, students focus on reviewing in the hope of
achieving high results. Moveover, Examination will be always the first choice to help
teachers with approprite teaching methods. The teacher know how much students understand
the subject and how to help them improve more. Last but not least Examination define one's
skill and capabilities between students. On the other hand, some don’t agree that exams are
important. One clear example is that Some cheaters go undetected and score high marks.
Neverthless, studying is a whole process so teacher can see through out the term and a high
score can’t completely assess a studen’t ability . All in all, examination shouldn’t be

Someone people think examination should be abolished at university. However , I don't agree
with this agreement because of many reasons. The university has a big amount of number
students . So if it doesn't have examination , lecturers wouldn't classify students. Exam can
test the students how well they're learning . By doing the exam , lecturers know how well the
students understand the topic and where the standard is improve. Next , exam help students
aware of own standard . When students do exam , they use their knowledge to show off their
ability . If their score is good , they're happy and will study more . If it is bad , they'll try
more . So , exam not only motivate students to study but also help students know their
weaknesses and strengths they are . Morever , it is a way to help lecturer have a right method
to teach . As a conclusion, examinations give many good impacts on someone’s
life. Therefore, examinations should not be abolished

The world would be better if we all spoke one language. These are the reasons why we
should speak one language. Firstly, there would be no language barriers and it would be
much easier to communicate, to trade and negotiate. Secondly, learning a new language takes
time and money always so if we spoke the same language, we could save time and money for
learning other necessary skills. Thirdly, speaking the same language helps us gain the
knowledge all over the world easier. We would never have to translate the original version
into our own language because we all spoke the same language. However, many people say
that speaking one language will be boring and there would be a loss of cultural diversity if we
spoke one language. To be honest, cultures are made by people not the language and in the
world, there are many countries speak the same language (English) such as: America,

Some people said that universities should abolish the examination while I accept that there
are benefits and draw backs of this decision. The option to do the test after learning is
disadvantageous. First, examination does not define one ‘s skills and capabilies. You know,
person is not perfect and each people has a special point. And when we must take the exams,
teachers often request the high scores but they don’t know that students are not good.
Moreover, students are stressful, this cause the lack . of sleepy and anxieties. In addition,
exams also make the competition between students and the friendship is not beautiful. In other
hand, it seems to me that students who take the exam bring them undeniable advantages.
Students will have more motivation to study. In conclusion, there are many disadvantages for
students to take the exam, although this decision has some benefits

It is essential that examination should be abolished at university. First, when exams are
cancelled both universities and students can save a lot of money and time for that. According
to the statistics of Ministry of Education and Training, we spend thousands billion VND for
organizing examinations in over country every year. Second, there will be less stress and
pressure for pupils if exams are abolished. Students will not stay up late and get up early to
review their lessons for tests. Therefore, they will have more energy and interest in studying.
You may think that if there is no exam, teachers can't classify students, but studying is a
whole process so the teachers can evaluate the students' abilities through their performances
instead of the tests. Finally, we can reduce the cheats and negative things in exams when the
exams don't exist. In conclusion, abolishing the exams at university is extremely necessary to

More and more problems with exams nowaday, especially at university, lead to the debate
about whether to abolish the test or not. Firstly, if you look at the opinion of the students,
most of them agree with this issue. According to them, the tests put them under a lot of
pressure, which make they no longer have time to focus on other things. A life that only
studying and testing is boring, isn't it? Others argue that exams cannot fully define a person's
ability or skill. Indeed, there are many compulsory subjects that students do not like to study
and are not suitable for students in college, and they still have to do the exams of that subject
in the end. Moreover, if examination be abolished, both students and the school can save a lot
of money and time. Secondly, in contrast to the students, the teachers said that abolishing the
exams made them unable to classify students, so they could not find the right methods to

From 19D170211-Le Pham Ngoc Anh (41750) to Everyone: 02:37 PM

Because classifying students takes place over a long learning period, not a exam. Or students
can express their own understanding of the subjects by speaking or writing that they enjoy.
Of course, there are no topics and no requirements for that speaking or writing. Finally, with
all of the above opinions, the abolishing of examination is perfectly reasonable.
From 19D170214-Vu Thi Lan Anh (41764) to Everyone: 02:44 PM

In university, we have a lot of things to learn so examination is one of important steps to

understand clearly all of those knowledge. Firstly, because of a lot of things to study, we can
forget or misunderstand among them that why we need exams as a meaure which let the
students know how well they understand the topic and where their standard is allowing to
improve. Secondly, exams can bring to students motivate to keep learning instead of being
bored when have to study many things. Thirdly, students can also manage their time better.
Besides studying, students usually have some entertain activities but some of students unable
to balance learning and playing so they will waste time on them and exams can solve that
problem. They will force students to spend more time to study. however, some people
suppose that examnination put many pressure on student and I think that opinion not quite
right. The pressure which exams bring to still work well with students.
. It can let them know how to face difficulties , pressure and get used to that in the future;
make their brain working effectively and promote creativity; recognize the importance of
time and use it clever;…. And there are still many advantages of the pressure which exams
bring to useful for student's future. Therefore, we should keep and join all the examinition to
take as much helpful knowledge, skills as possible.

But now, many people disagree and they believe if there were one common language, a part
of a country’s core identity would be sacrificed. Language not only is the way people living
in the same society communicate but also symbolizes their origins and defining characters.
Vietnamese people, for example, have been known for their heroism and patriotism through
words of their anthems. Or everyone thinks of France as a land of romance because French is
a language of love. But I attack that idea, because the cuture made by the people not the
