The teacher is student-centered because she wants to be able to have a connection with all
of her students. She is using the traditional approach and gives a warning to her students about
quieting down when other students are presenting.
7-How does the teacher manage classroom? Can you identify classroom management
techniques used?
The teacher manages the classroom by telling the class that point will be deducted off a
presentation if needed or she will be waiting until everybody quiets down to continue talking.
8-Observe in the classroom setting and determine types of behavior students play when offtask. What do they do when they are not paying attention? How does the teacher re-direct
them or get them back on task?
When they dont pay attention the teacher stops the class and talks directly to the people
that are not paying attention and warns them about talking again if they do, then points will be
deducted.
9-How does the teacher communicate with students (verbal, vocal, meta-verbal or non-verbal
communication such as facial, body language, use of space, motion and time?)
The teacher communicates with the students by using facial expressions to tell the
students to stop what they are doing and pay attention to the front of the class.
10-Who were the students in the class? What did you notice about them? (Background,
diversity, attitude, motivation, interaction, participation, etc)
The students were interactive with other classmates because they asked questions about
why and how they choose the action that they did and how the end results was.
11-What did you see that is effective in engaging students? What do you see that is
ineffective in keeping students engaged?
Effective engagements in students are having to ask questions in class about the
subject/topic that they did not understand. Ineffective engagements are having conversations
between other students while the teacher is teaching a lesson.
12-What are the two instructional strategies you observed and would like to apply in your
classroom?
Lectures: Transmit information which supplements or enhances reading, promote
understanding via explanations; respond to students difficulties.
Discussions: Practice thinking and communicating in the subject. Get feedback from
students.

like to apply in your classroom?
Address behavior issues quickly and wisely
