popular in the Middle Ages and has been used by many composers as the basis of other

Giovanni Francesco Anerio (c. 1567 – buried June 12, 1630) was an Italian composer of the
Roman School, of the very late Renaissance and early Baroque eras. He was the younger brother of Ave Maris Stella - Claudio Monteverdi
Felice Anerio. Giovanni's principal importance in music history was his contribution to the early
