To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my interest in applying for your professional exchange programme. I am a student at The University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Carol Davila, in Bucharest, Romania. I am currently in my forth year of studies; I have completed a full year of research in Musicotherapy influence on pacients from the Oncology Department. I was very excited about that work, but I also wanted to improve my clinical skills so I enrolled in an Emergency Unit in July 2010. My interest lies in Internal Medecine - General, yet also in a variety of subjects that aid me in developing an integrative medical view, such as Internal Medicine-Cardiology, Internal Medicine- Invasive and non-Invasive Cardiology, , Internal Medicine-Pulmonology. I find it extremely important to shape a bridge between different areas of medicine. I intend to continue my clinical activity within the Emergency Unit, but I also want to start again the next year a reseach activity in Musicotherapy. My academic performance has always been within the top 5% of my faculty. I have been an active member of the Universitys research group of Microbiology. On the other hand, I have been involved in extracurricular projects like public awareness campaigns (related to AIDS, Hepatitis B and C). Moreover, I would like to continue my studies in order to gain knowledge and experience and I believe an exchange programme would offer me the possibility of forming a more complete view of the different departments in a hospital. I deem this project to be an excellent opportunity to develop on multiple levels. Also, the possibility of studying in an international environment would give me the privilege of interacting with specialists from other medical fields. I am aware of the kind of dedication and perseverance I would be required in order to achieve the best results and I consider my background compelling for such a professional exchange programme.
