Automatic Energy Meter Reading and Bill processing

Conventional Energy Meter Reading: In conventional meter reading system, the meter
reader goes to each meter and collects units from the meters. Most of the time, the meters are situated inside the house, thus this process becomes disgusting. Sometimes the meters are situated inside the field mostly for irrigation motors, where it becomes difficult for meter readers to collect data from these meters. After collecting data, s/he submits all data in office and another person complete the billing paper. Then another person goes to the every house to give the billing paper which is so much time consuming.

Proposed System: In the proposed system, the whole billing process will be performed
automatically. The reading of the meter will be collected automatically and transmitted to the office without involving human assistance. The bill will be processed in the office and transmitted to the consumer. Bill will be displayed in a digital display near the meter. The consumer will be able to pay bill from their home may be with their mobile phone.

In short: The whole system can be divided into three parts.

1. Reading Unit 2. Communication Unit 3. Receiving and Data processing Unit

Reading unit will read the meter data and process theme to transmit to the office. The communication unit will help to communicate meter reading from meter end to the office and transmit the bill from office to the display in consumer end. In the office there will be another unit which will receive the meter reading and process the bill to send to the meter display.

increases some initial cost, the running cost is so small. It reduces the use of manpower in a great number. So we can introduce this system.
