Volunteering at A New Hope

Volunteers are very important to A New Hope and we offer a variety of ways you can help the animals! Mobile Pet Adoptions: Volunteers are needed to help handle the dogs and rabbits, provide adoption counseling and be available to help answer questions for the public. Pet Love Program: Volunteers provide animals with proper leash walking behavior, basic obedience commands, and socialization at Placer County Animal Services.

Foster Dog Training: A New Hope offers foster dog training classes for foster parents, volunteers and prospective adopters. See the Training page online for more information.

Safety First Program: A New Hope Animal Foundation also responds to local disasters (such as fire and floods) and works in partnership with Placer County to set up temporary animal shelters during those disasters. Fundraisers: Including the annual Happy Tails Cook book sale, annual used Book Sale and holiday Wishing Trees during the holiday time. Grant Writing: Grant Writers are needed to help apply for the grants for which apply to our mission. Administration: A New Hope needs accounting expertise, public outreach person (writing thank you letters, etc)

Foster Parenting: We provide loving, temporary homes when our shelters are overcrowded or an animal requires special attention. Please visit the Fostering Information page on our website for more information and applications.

Who We Are
A New Hope is dedicated to providing the community with services and programs to enhance and protect the human/companion animal bond, promoting responsible pet ownership and reducing euthanasia of adoptable animals. A New Hope is focused on enhancing the lives of animals who find themselves homeless and are dedicated to providing services to our local animal shelter that prepares animals for their lasting homes and promotes adoptability. A New Hope Animal Foundation works diligently to help strengthen the human/ animal bond and to make a difference in the lives of homeless animals and to better prepare them for permanent homes. We focus on animals typically overlooked by others and to help our county animal shelter to provide humane housing for where each animal is treated as a being of value and where the euthanasia of adoptable animals is a last resort to overcrowding. As primary support for Placer County Animal Services, we are proud that we have not had to euthanize an adoptable animal in our county shelter for more than six years even in this downturned economy. We believe in collaboration, positive community service and dedication to those animals that especially need our help, the medically impaired, the very young, old and stressed and those breeds that are overlooked or misjudged. A New Hope manages the volunteer program at the animal shelter and even provides after-hour shelter volunteer support including training, socialization and caring for the animals.
