Riggs The students learned handwriting strokes and have been reviewing phonograms. Literature This week we have been reading Friendship stories in class and discussing this important virtue. Science The students created a foldable that explores the different branches of Science we will be learning about including Life, Earth, Physical, and Process Science. History Using various maps and the globe, the class discussed our various communities and learned the names of the city, state, country, and continent where we live.

First graders learned this week that the Sonoran Desert is the only desert in the world where the Saguaro Cactus grows.
Virtue of the Month
FRIENDSHIP This week the class read many stories about friendship including Chrysanthemum and Wemberly Worried. We discussed how to make new friends and made a Friendship Garden in the hallway.
