Assistant Video/Projection Designer


Reporting to the Technical Director, the AVPD assists the Video/Projection Designer and Head Electrician in the creation of the video elements used for live stage performances. Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Assist the Video/Projection Designer and Head Electrician during the creation of the video
system design.

2. Prepare floor plans, cue sheets, tracking sheets, plots and other forms for the
documentation of the video design. 3. Assist on set of video shoots during the rehearsal period. Document shoot set up information and track takes. 4. Aid in the supervision of the actual hanging and rigging of the video equipment and work with the house crew to ensure consistent functioning / alignments

5. Maintain tracking information and cue sheets during programming sessions 6. Coordinate with lighting assistants and the lighting and video programmers to ensure cues
are triggered as requested by the video designer. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, independent workers who are able to multi task. AVPDs may be asked to work several productions concurrently during the Stratford repertory season. Knowledge of Word, Excel and Adobe Creative Suite (esp. Photoshop) are required. Working knowledge of Dataton Watchout is an asset. As cues will be triggered from the ETC EOS system, some knowledge of lighting consoles would be an asset.
