I am currently studying Mathematics at the University of Manchester, I will be proceeding into the second year of the course in September.

WORK EXPERIENCE

I have done work experience in D and A opticians in which I learned a number of skills including answering the phone to customers, ringing customers dealing with customers and helping them out in the front of the shop. So I am a very customer friendly person. Also I quickly picked up on how their computer system worked and was easily able to book patients in and check them in once they arrived. From October 2008 until October 2010 I worked in Bank Fashion, a retail store in Shrewsbury. There I picked up a number of skills including customer service, till work and a large proportion of the job was based on teamwork. Work tasks would involve answering the phone to customers to deal with enquiries and complaints, taking responsibility at the end for the day of cashing up the days takings and the next day taking them to the bank. Whilst working there I worked through many sales in which we would all have to work hard together to move the store around and reprice the majority of the store. Through helping out with the sales and the changes of season I gained a lot of experience in visual merchandising. In 2011 I worked at Condover Hall as a catering assistant, alongside this I have also done waiting on at events such as Ludlow food festival and in 2012 a Jubilee Ball at Adcote school.

INTERESTS

I like to do a lot of sport in my spare time; I currently play football for an eleven a-side team in Manchester and for three 6-a-side teams, alongside this I also play squash. Another interest I have is music, I play the saxophone and in the past have played in numerous bands.
