Screenplay

MINI TREATMENT The radio script will be for Oldham community radio, 99.7fm and will be a breakfast show at 8:15am. As it is a morning show the presenters voice will have to be welcoming and upbeat instead of formal so it can relate to normal people, the accent will have to be clear but still northern as it is a local community radio. For the comedian he would have to have a sarcastic tone to his voice to emphasize that he was a comedian just by hearing his voice. The audience for the comedian would be teens up to 30s so it gives a wide range of people that he can appeal to and it would engage him with the teen audience of the radio station. The back story to the comedian is that he grew up in Manchester and that is why the Manchester crowds feel like home, and he also took his inspiration from his time at school in Manchester and that is where he gets his style of one liner jokes from. The jingle for the show needs to be short being only 3-4 seconds and be upbeat using catchy music as it is aimed at teenagers, this will then grab their attention for them to listen to the rest of the show. Another thing needed on the jingle is the voice over which introduces the radio station and the frequency and this voice is going to be in an echo so it sounds more interesting. The institutional conventions of this are that it is a breakfast show so the jokes from the comedian and what he says needs to be clean due to the fact that the listeners are teenagers, another one is that it is talking about the local shows which promotes the areas around oldham instead of far away shows. The other side to it is the technical side where there is a time scale for everything so it fits into the show along with all the jingles and special effects mixed in with them. The music effects which will be played in this script are cheers from the studio which will be recorded before hand and put into the show, the laughing and archive clip will also be pre recorded.
