If Tm is the mean temperature of heat addition as shown in the above figure, so that the area under curve 2-3 is equal to area under curve 5-6, then heat added.

Q1 = H.A = (h 3 - h 2 ) = Tm (s3 - s 2 )
Tm = (h 3 - h 2 ) (s3 - s 2 )

If Q2 = heat rejected = ( h 4 - h1 ) = Tmin ( s 4 - s1 ) = Tmin ( s3 - s 2 )
