AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson the students’ should be able to


1. Explain what a real time system is.
2. Explain the applications of real time systems.
3. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of real time processing.
4. Explore which one is standalone single-user system.
5. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a single user system.
6. Explain online systems and multi access systems.

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION
Greets student and enquire about their last week project (2 minutes)

Lesson Development (40 minutes)


• Elicit from the student the type of computer they have.
Example : microcomputer
• Explain the significance of real time system.
• Then, explain the applications of real time system with examples.
• Explain what are the benefits of real time processing.
• Compare the advantages and disadvantages single user systems.
• Explain Online systems and offline systems.
• Explain multi access systems with suitable example
Lesson Closure : (8 minutes)
• Recap of the lesson ( 8 minutes)
• Group discussion (10 minutes) how to do online ticket booking
