About Chicken Tikka Masala:-

They say that now Chicken Tikka Masala has become


the national dish of Britain, so popular is this dish
nowadays. I think, this dish is the westernized
version of butter chicken, which is so very popular in
Punjab , the northern province of India and Delhi, the
capital city of India.
This dish can be described as chicken cubes
barbequed in Indian earthen oven and served with a
tomato sauce cooked with herbs and spices.

Ingreditients:-
• 4 boneless chicken breasts, cut into cubes and
skin removed.

• For marinade
• 1/2 cup plain yogurt
• 2 teaspoons of minced ginger
• 2 teaspoon of minced garlic
• 4 tablespoons lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon chili powder
• 1 teaspoon cumin
• 1 to 2 teaspoons curry powder

For gravy
• 2 tablespoons oil
• 1-teaspoon of minced ginger
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 2 tomatoes, chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon cumin
• 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
• Salt to taste
• 1/4 cup sour cream

Preparation

Marinade:- mix all the marinade Ingreditients and put


the chicken cubes in it, and toss so that the marinade
is well coated. Keep it aside in refrigerator for almost
1-2 hours.
Pre-heat the gas oven and grill chicken cubes for 5
minutes each side until chicken is cooked and then
keep it aside.

Gravy:- Heat the oil in a pan. Add the ginger and


garlic, and sauté until golden don’t let them brown.
Add the chopped onions, and sauté until soft and
golden brown. Stir in the tomatoes and cook until
soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cumin, coriander
and salt, and cook for some time.

Add the cooked chicken pieces, and cook until heated


through. Slowly stir in sour cream, and cook until
heated. Serve over rice with chopped onion , salad
and lime wedges. Enjoy.
