Production Log 7 Second Shoot, 13th March Today we shot our second shoot at Norwich University of Arts Photography Studio. In the shoot GH was capturing a similar still life to what she did in our first shoot. In this shoot the one thing which GH did differently was use a different type of liquid for her flowers. In this one she used milk and dyed it blue, in the last shoot she used blue water. With this shoot I experimented with the GoPro camera. I used it for capturing difficult angles which I could not use with an A1 camera and to see what techniques I could capture with it. For example, one technique which I used the GoPro for was to capture a shot outside the car while driving to get the motion of the car. With this shot I wanted to use it for as an introduction in the promo video. This technique with the GoPro we managed to shoot the scenery inside the car while driving along not only during the day but at night. When filming during the night we captured many good shots with all the city lights and car lights. I also experimented with the point of view shot by getting my client to wear the head strap with the GoPro attacked to it. I did this so I could get my clients POV from her angle and to get the audiences to see a picture from another angle on how my client takes her images. We also strapped it to her camera to see what angle and shot we would achieve. With this scene when I viewed it in the edit suites it turned out to be one of our best shots from the shoot. I will defiantly be using this footage within the promo video. Another element which I captured by strapping the GoPro to the camera was the sound of the camera as it was taking a picture. We managed to get a very clear and distinctive sound from it which I will also be using in the video. The GoPro was not the only camera I used during this shoot; I also used an A1 camera with a Fig Rig. It was my first time using the Fig Rig in a shoot and I found it much easier and stable and captured a smooth sequence. I will be using more of the fig rig in the future. After capturing what we needed I exported all the footage onto the computer and watched the footage through to see what is useable and what is not. I labelled each one a name describing what was in the shot and what part to use. I then listed the scenes which I wanted to use by writing the minutes and seconds down of that scene.
