Assessing My Students During My Lesson: Pre-Assessment
Assessing My Students During My Lesson: Pre-Assessment
Wright
Assessment: During the lesson, I first had the students estimate how much they believed the main character would collect. I then had the students to work in their groups and determine the amount of rice that the little girl collected in thirty days. While working, many students were able to find number patterns. The rice chart was the students assessment and was also used as a visual. The students placed rice on the chart to show how much the rice had grown overtime.
Post-Assessment: I then returned to the PowerPoint presentation. Once again, I posed the question on whether the students preferred a penny a day for thirty days or $100,000. The students quickly said they preferred the penny. On the last slide, the students read the amount that they would receive if they had chosen the penny, which was $5,368,709.12.
