The children will make a flat sculpture out of foil.

Outside on the blacktop.

10:00 am. To 11:00 am.

6) Who? Number of children you will be working with at a time-size of group.


Four children at a time.

B. Activity Planning

1) Why? List purposes of activity.


In this activity, children will develop
The children will develop fine motor skills.

2) What? List all materials needed (do not include recipe ingredients unless children are making the recipe in the
classroom),
a) 1’ x 2’ Piece of aluminum foil
b) Masking Tape
c) Matte Board
d) Chalk

3) How? Procedures (include details).


a) Take a piece of aluminum foil and bundle it into a ball.
b) Place the foil ball on the floor.
c) Stomp on it until it is completely flat.
d) Make small loops of masking tape and place them on the back of flattened foil.
e) Press the flattened foil onto the matte board until it sticks.
f) Have chalk sitting out if the children decorate their board.
4) List 4 things that you want the children to understand from this activity.
a) Stomped sculptures create interesting shapes.
b) Everyone’s Sculpture is different just like every child is different.
c) About anything can be taken and turned into art.
d) That art can be fun for anyone no matter what there limits are.

5) As a guiding adult, I will transition into activity with the following open-ended question:
I wonder what shape this ball of foil would turn into if you stomped on it?
