Overview
This tutorial covers how to create native directory groups for Planning users. The focus of this tutorial is to illustrate how you can create a group for users with limited access to the corporate network. You can associate users and groups to the native directory Planning group. You can also assign specific Planning application roles and permissions to the group. Scenario

Your company uses an external authentication directory. You need to create a native directory group for Planners in the Hyplan application. Those Planners enter and submit plans for approval, run business rules, use reports that others created, view and use task lists, and create data by using Smart View. Back to Topic List

Prerequisites

Creating Native Directory Groups


User Management Console is the centralized user interface for managing projects and applications within projects, provisioning users and groups for Oracle's Hyperion applications, managing the Shared Services native directory. The console software is installed with Shared Services server. In this topic, you create a native directory group in User Management Console. To create native directory groups in User Management Console: 1. In the view pane, expand User Directories > Native Directory.

Select Groups.

Right-click Groups, and select New.

In the name box, enter a name for the Planning group, and click Next.

Associating Users and Groups


When you create native directory groups in User Management Console, you can associate group and user members. To associate users and groups: 1. In the Directory list, select a directory, and click Go.

In the Available Groups area, select groups, and click Add clickNext.

In the Directory list, select a directory, and click Go.

In the Available Users, select users, and click Add

. When you finish adding users, click Finish.

Review the status message and click OK.

Assigning Planning Roles to Groups


In this topic, you assign specific Planning application roles to the native directory group you just created. To assign Planning roles to groups: 1. With Groups selected in the Native Directory tree, click Show All to display the available groups in the content area.

Right-click a group, and select Provision.

In the Available Roles area, expand the project and application nodes to display the available roles .

Select a role to assign the group and click Add

. When you finish assigning roles, click Save.

Review the provision summary and click OK.
