President's Note
I cannot believe it's already June. Summer solstice is fast approaching and summer is beginning! If you are new to town or are looking for fun things to do this summer here are a couple ideas to get on the calendar now: PARKS There are tons of great programs thru the city of eugene at your local parks ranging from crafts, live music, free movies outdoors in some parks, lunches, and more! Check out : Summer in the City 2013 per the city of Eugene OUTDOOR THEATRE There are usually two plays performed at the south end of Amazon Community Center each summer. They're intended for kids of all ages and often involve some sort of audience participation. These have a small fee associated with them. You'll see these posted in weekly reminders, they usually occur in July & August and everyone is welcome (i.e. no tickets sold ahead just buy them there when you arrive with your picnic blanket & lunch) MOVIES Besides the fun outdoor movies at parks around town, the movie theaters (Valley River Center & Gateway) offer super cheap kid viewings of classic movies from the past. This is a great way to beat the heat on a scorching day or try out a theater movie for the first time on the cheap with your

The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel written by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald that follows a cast of characters living in the fictional town of West Egg on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. The story primarily concerns the young and mysterious millionaireJay Gatsby and his quixotic passion for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan. Considered to be Fitzgerald's magnum opus, The Great Gatsbyexplores themes of decadence, idealism, resistance to change, social upheaval, and excess, creating a portrait of the Jazz Age that has been described as a cautionary tale regarding the American Dream.
We're meeting this month at Rye on June 26, at 8:00 pm.

child. It's around 2 dollars for mom & kiddo combined. Be on the look out for posters at those too theaters, I'll post a pic when I see them since I'm not finding a link online right now. May your June be full of family fun, sunshine and laughter. Anneka McMillen President MOMS Club of Eugene, OR
Anyone in the club can host an event but per International MOMS Club each event sent out to the club needs to be submitted to the Executive Board (email myself, Laura Bottem, Mary Suelzle, Bridget Beal, Kami Hendrix or Shireen Wright) prior to sending it out. This is to make sure we have a good balance on the calendar since the board is always working behind the scenes to schedule cool events during the upcoming months. If you'd like to host an event, just send one of us an email several weeks ahead (ideally a month as we start planning prior to board meetings). We're always here to help walk you thru the process if you've never created an Evite. Have a question? Please ask! Thanks so much, Your Board
